Micro Teaching Class Reflection
Last meeting, we learned about how to open the class before starting the lesson. First, we have to set a good introduction. The purpose is to create a good atmosphere in the class. I believe a good atmosphere in the class can make the class enjoyable and fun. So it is important. To make a good introduction, we, as a teacher, can do something to grab the students’ attention. For example, when we come in the class, make sure we don’t bow our head while walking. Make sure we are looking at the students. After that, we can greet the students by saying good morning or we can ask their condition whether they are ready for the class or not.

Before we get into the
materials, review the last meeting will be better. We can ask the students what
they learned on the last meeting to make sure they still remember the materials
or not. On this part, we can make a short test about the last materials. The
test can be either oral test or written test. After that, we introduce the new
topic to the students. We can do something to stimulate the students to guess
about what the new topic is. We can show video, for example, or play a game or
anything. The most important point is that the stimulation should be related to
the new topic.
Beside learned about
how to open the class, we also learned how to close the class, because it is
not good if we have an opening in the beginning but we do not have a closing in
the end. Before we really close the class, it is better for us, as a teacher,
to do something. For example, concluding remarks or review what we have learned
to make sure the students understand the materials. On this part, we can give
the students some assignments. The assignments can be taken home or can be
finished in the class directly. It depends on the time we have. After that, we
can close the class. Don’t forget to say ‘good bye’
