Reflection 3

What should the Practitioner have when Practicing Micro Teaching Class?
When a student who learns about how to become a good teacher practices teaching their junior of the same faculty, he/she should have some competences that are very important. Those competences can be evaluated by considering some aspects such as opening the class, the main activity, the using of media, the use of language, and so on.
For opening the class, the practitioner should do apperception. It means that the teacher should review the last meeting materials. This aspect is not really important if it is the first time the practitioner gets practice. Besides, giving some information of the competences goal of the topic is important so that the students know why they should learn the topic. Then the practitioner should give motivations to the students so that the students will not boring in the class. The very good opening will motivate their spirit on learning process.
In the main activity, the practitioner should show his/her competence by mastering the material. This aspect can be shown by explain the material well or answering the students’ question scientifically. Connecting the material to the reality and/or to another science will interest the students’ attention. The use of media will help either the practitioner or the students to understand the material. The media used must be interest, effective, and efficient. Then the practitioner should take care to the language that is used. Considering the students may come from different speech community, the practitioner must use common language, it means that the language used can be understood by the students.
So, those are some aspects that the practitioner should have in practicing the micro teaching class.
